So, last night, while on my run, I passed a couple of people, just like me, running, jogging, walking on the streets trying to get their work-outs on. And to while away the time in-between the less that 10-seconds it took me to notice and pass fellow runners, I started to wonder who they were, what was their essence, what were their issues and challenges, what made them tick, what brought them out to run, and so late at night.

I didn’t delude myself that they, like me, were fighting middle age bulge and compulsive eating disorders, I assumed they had other motives. And I started to build these persons in my head.

And when I got home, after another knee-damaging road-run experience, I decided that I would be those people and imagine the type of music they listened to, and why, as they work-out.

If it was just that straightforward, it wouldn’t be me, so I have put a twist.

These people are adults and their stories will be adult themed.

If you are squeamy or want to disagree on other people’s opinions on their posts, no - don’t.

I developed the first personae yesterday, and curated the corresponding playlist late into this morning.

I had planned to publish at 5am, but I slept off - old age.

Anyway, I hope to release a different personae and playlist every Friday.

Joke - 45

Last night was excellent

A perfect night like before

Like way back in the days

Great food

Good wine

Slow music

Like an hour of full contact but slow and deliberate lovemaking.

And it’s now 5am.

Charged up with that euphoria, I head to the treadmill. Not to attack it, but to work it as I relive last night and the promises that the future holds for us - especially as the lockdown eases and the kids are now finally off to boarding school....

This is the soundtrack for my regiment this morning.

It’s my kids’ music. Slow and steady thumping beats matched to sweet young voices making me giggle with their juvenile talk about money and relationships.

And sex.

I luxuriate.

30 minutes is all I have.

Anything after is aśeju.

And now that I’m toned, hot and sweaty, I know just what to do to ginger him out of bed and off to work to make that money! Those school fees won’t pay themselves.
